Cherries, Roosters and a Saturday Drive

So we were rooster owners up until a few weeks ago. The rooster started attacking Samuel. Everytime he would step onto the porch the mean old rooster would charge Samuel. I taught him to carry a mallet and yell "No!" to the rooster but it still kept charging him. Solution: The chopping block. Ricky had the boys from our ward come take care of our rooster. They even grilled the chicken up. Moral of the story: Dont' mess with Samuel.

Saturday drive up to Cascadae. We stopped and played in the river. These two LOVED the water. We decided we'll stop at this little river bank everytime we head up to Cascade.

I thought this was funny. Any similarities??

Check out these baby blues.

Cascade, Idaho

This was our first trip to Cascade. Absolutely beautiful! We'll definitely be back.

Pruning and a net do wonders for fruit trees. We've been up to our eyeballs in cherries! Ricky picked buckets and buckets of cherries and the tree didn't look like it had been touched. We've taken sacks of cherries to our neighbors and everyone we know, made cherry shakes, cherry salads, dried cherries and I still had plenty to can. I canned cherries in syrup, black forest preserves and will top it off with some cherry jam this week. Love Idaho!

How does Dad handle two? Put one in a bucket:)

Samuel climbing the ladder to pick some cherries.

So handsome!

Ruby girl smile from her head to her toes. Sometimes I call her Ruby Cube. Samuel caught on and has affectionately started calling her Cube.

She's my crawler.

Samuel is such a good brother. The other day Ruby was crying so he brought her a book and started "reading" it to her. Lucky girl.

More Cherries!
